"1. Today is 03/07/10, and we have not received our order. We ordered a printer and one small item on 02/15/10.
2. When we called to check on our order (last week), we were told the order was cancelled. We were never notified order was cancelled.
3. When we called officemax.com customer service at 1 877 OFFICEMAX, they told us order was cancelled by their "card services" dept. and we were purportedly transferred to their card services dept. Their "card services dept.", told us, wrongfully, that "there was a problem with our credit card for the order". This is a blatant misrepresentation, as we know there is nothing wrong with our credit card, AND, we contacted our credit card issuer, and they said they approved the charge the day of the order (02/15/10).
4. We asked officemax.com card services dept., via phone and via email, to put their purported reason for cancelling the order IN WRITING via email or otherwise, but they ignored us and have not done so.
5. One way you can file legitimate complaints about officemax.com online, is not only via resellerratings.com (where they have complaints similar to this and a low rating), but also via the Better Business Bureau online (bbb.org), and you would do so with the Northern Illinois location of the BBB online, as that is where Officemax.com online is located.
6. Note officemax.com has had hundreds of complaints at bbb.org, similar to the complaints here at resellerratings.com. (see their complaint resolution stats).
7. Watch out for the use of broad and vague language, and, pretextual (false exuses/misrepresentations) "reasons" when you contact them to check on why your order was cancelled. Also, watch out for possible retaliatory and/or defamatory notes that officemax.com may have written on your officemax.com account with them (they can see the notes, you cannot), should you ever have had a problem with an order, &/or inquired about the order, &/or complained to them about an order or order cancellation."
"Worst seller ever. Item arrived (air purifier) and it did not turn on/did not work at all. I have been waiting over 2 weeks, and after several phone calls to their "cust. service department" (actually a hired third party vendor), they still have not sent me a return label or RMA#. So I returned the item myself and I paid the shipping (about $20!), to their address on file in San Francisco, CA. They refused return shipment! So, I just filed a dispute with my credit card company. One is only required to return the item with track #, and if the vendor refuses shipment, then I have already done everything I am legally required to do. It is their problem now. Will never order from them or any of their "merchants" again."

We placed our order, and got an email falsely stating they could not verify our billing or shipping address with credit card, and they that our addresses were both not listed with credit card issuer; total misrepresentation. And, they charge you extra on your item for having a po box billing address(?!)"

First I ordered a ROADY 2 satellite radio, order # 169571, after verifying stock on the phone w/ company & online; they never delivered, then when I called 2 check they said OUT OF STOCK. 2nd order was 4 the Roady XT, order# 170012, & they said they could not verify my address w/ credit card company, thus trying to justify their delay, AGAIN, on this order! They say this on all orders, but my address IS correct w/credit card company & I do not have this problem with any other online merchant & I order online every week!!
